Plowman in a Field ☷ Van Gogh ☲ Canvas Size:15 x 12 balancing realism with decorative elementsPlowman in a Field (1889) by Vincent van Gogh depicts a plowman tilling a wheat field surrounded by a low stone wall, poplar trees, and an old farm house in the distance. It is one of a series of paintings of the view from his window at the asylum in Saint Rmy. His room faced east, and this version captures the morning sun rising in the sky.
